About Leylynn Rilden
The Sisters of Fanatasy
April, the older sister, is a sovereign of imagination with passion fuelling her every word. When she was young, her pen stroked out beautiful, cryptic poetry and continued to works of fantastical short fiction. It wasn’t until she read her very first full novel that she found her calling to become a young adult fantasy fiction author. Why fantasy, you ask? April was enamored by the genre because it was a brilliant means of expression. While she works in the prison systems as an administrative assistant, this job is merely a distraction from her true calling. She expresses that, “There are all these crazy, imaginative things flowing through my mind, and through writing, I am able to share it all with the world.”
When April is not creating magical worlds, she can be found reading, sketching, or doing outdoor activities. Find her possibly curled up on the couch engrossed in the latest manga, fantasy, or LGBTQ+ book. Or possibly hiking through a majestic forest or camping out in the enchanted woods. An animal lover, she has two adorable pets to accompany her on her adventures: her dog, Panser, and her cat, Speedy.
Ashley, the younger sister, is a savant of words and queen of creativity. Reading and fantasy have been a love of hers throughout her whole life. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in English and an Associate’s degree in Humanities, she is a dazzling star when it comes to grammar and writing. Like her sister, her job is merely a distraction from her calling to be a young adult fantasy author. What makes her so drawn to fantasy, you ask? Fantasy novels have been her source of comfort from the cruel realities she has braved over the years. Anytime her antagonists, anxiety and depression, threatened to take over, Ashley would turn to a fantasy novel. She says, “We all need to escape from time to time, and fantasy worlds are my escape. Because of this, I decided that I wanted to create that escape for others as well. I love to write stories that take you to another world and characters that people can relate to.”
When Ashley is not formulating magical realities, you can find her reading, crafting, playing video games, or simply cuddling up with her pets. Ashley loves to journey to the worlds of other authors who create young adult fantasy fiction or LGBTQ+ fiction. Also find her visiting the fantastical virtual worlds of RPG video games. Or maybe just watching her hamster, Pixie, run on her wheel. Like her sister, she has an immense heart for animals. She has two very loved dogs (Sweet Pea and Sprite) as well as a cherished cat (Honey Bee).
